“Amazing Independence of the Seas”
The ship is certainly designed for families with both young and older children in mind, but they also offer fantastic facilities for couples between ages of 20-60. To be honest there is something for absolutely everyone on board this ship.
Dining was overall very good, excellent & efficient table staff showing good knowledge of the menu, and same with the wine waiters. Good times between courses, with a very diverse choice. There was excellent buffet variety in the Windjammer restaurant which is one of the best buffet restaurants at sea.
Great size cabins, clean, spacious, very light and airy feel to them. Standard shower unit in the bathroom, but you can have a bath in suites or higher.
The staff on board cannot help you enough; they really make a colossal effort to build a friendly rapport early in the holiday so you feel more at home throughout. Also they do not expect anything in return, they work tirelessly regardless of whether you have pre paid tips or not.
This ship sets the benchmark for ‘onboard activities’. It has an ice rink with skating in the daytime for passengers & spectacular shows at night, a three-tier theatre, a surfing machine, 2 large swimming pools, 2 whirlpool Jacuzzis, a mini golf course, a rock climbing wall, sports court, huge gym with all equipment imaginable, various bars & lounges, there really is something for everyone!
The evening shows on the ships were the quality of West End productions, various different shows, musical, theatre, comedy etc. Also you can go and listen to other music and different entertainment in the lounges. There is also a fantastic nightclub which is open to the early hours.
Overall a fantastic ship that caters for all ages. Great idea with the Flow Rider surfing machine, this is great fun. One of the best ships in the world.
